Software Engineer/Database Metrics Analyst -- I led a team of developers and QA Engineers to design and develop metrics from transaction databases for both software development and QA management. I helped produce hundreds of reports from defect tracking and test case management data using reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, MS Excel and pure SQL. I supported the data generated by the reports and the tools and provided training on their usage. Some of my responsibilities included
Led a team of developers to produce Universes and reports for hundreds of customers across various departments and countries.
Developed and maintained Business Objects (Designer) Universes and Cognos Catalogs that provided the metadata layer for producing metrics data stored in several databases.
Interfaced with the business owners to develop accurate and easy to understand reports.
Attended user group meetings and designed custom objects to be used by the development team.
Developed the reporting standards for graphics (UI), metrics (formulas), and data representation used throughout the AOL Technologies division.
Administered group access rights to report data and helped troubleshoot web application problems.

Major Accomplishment: I achieved the highest work performance ratings ("Exceeded Expectations") in the 2003 and 2004 review years.

Web Designer/Developer -- I was part of a team that created web-based tools using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, SQL, and Perl to connect to information hosted in Sybase databaes. I collected requirements, developed prototypes, and wrote modules to display and update the database hosted information. Some of my duties included:
Develop and maintain server-side Javascript on Netscape servers.
Maintain Java (JSP) applications on JRun servers.
Develop and maintain Perl (CGI) applications.
Create custom SQL for applications and automate email reports.
Collaborate on requirements documents.
Create all graphics for web interfaces using Photoshop, Illustrator, & Flash.
Provide help desk type user support and help troubleshoot web applications.
Administer and optimize Netscape Enterprise web servers running on Sun Solaris (UNIX) servers.
Develop ad-hoc reports for management using Cognos reporting tools.

Major Accomplishment: I received an AOL Excellence Award in December 2001 for my design & development work on a web-based document repository and control system.

Peace Corps Logo Peace Corps, Washington, DC December 1994 - October 1999

Webmaster/Computer Specialist -- As a developer of client/server applications that interfaced with data stored in Oracle databases, I also performed the roles of Webmaster for the agency's Intranet and Level 1 support to the IT department. Some of my duties included:
Build pages and write content for the Peace Corps Intranet.
Administer Netscape Enterprise, Webstar, Microsoft, and Lasso web servers.
Develop and maintain a Help Desk client-server application in 4th Dimension /w Oracle backend.
Create all graphics for the web using Photoshop and Illustrator.
Teach classes in eletronic forms, email, Internet use, and web publishing for employees.
Maintain FileMaker Pro and Oracle databases.

Major accomplishments:
  • Re-designed the Peace Corps Intranet (twice).
  • Designed and wrote the Peace Corps Help Desk (client/server) system with Oracle backend.
  • Personally tutored the Peace Corps Director on software applications and Internet use.
     
Keane Logo Keane, Inc. (formerly ANSTEC, Inc.), Washington, DC December 1988 - December 1994

Applications Programmer/LAN Administrator -- At ANSTEC, I developed and maintained several database applications for Government contracts. I became self-taught in the installation of Novell networks as well as many software applications. I helped support over 450 Mac and PC users in NASA Headquarters, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Education, and ANSTEC offices. Some of my duties included:
Develop and maintain FileMaker Pro, dBase/Clipper, FoxPro, and RBase applications. Install and maintain Macs and PCs on a Novell ethernet network along with printers, peripherals and software.

Major Accomplishments:
  • Self-taught in LAN installation, ethernet wiring, and installing computer hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Designed and developed the Corrective Action Tracking System (CATS) for NASA headquarters.
